I had the .281 firmware working fine in my hacked STH. The only reason I have put the STH away as an operational spare is because the new Westell 6100 has a better analog side for handling difficult DSL loops (and it does ADSL2, also).

The biggest change I noted in the .281 firmware was much more stable DHCP Spoofing mode operation. From what I read there are early and late versions. Accordingly you have to have the right one based on how old or how new the Alcatel Firmware in the STH actually is.

I have alcatool-d8-win.zip with the date of the file inside of 05-31-2003 listed as AlcaTool 0.9d8 for Windows
