I have had two Comcast techs out, a line tech, and have spoken with an engineer. I guess south Davis is a little overloaded with all the apartment complexes that it has. I just talked to the engineer last night; Comcast gave me a pager number to dial when my pings get over 100ms, and he had talked to one of the "network" guys as he called it. The network guy told the engineer not to bother coming out to my apartment because they are aware of the issues that we have been having. From my research on the Comcast network in Davis I have found out that last October they split the nodes up. Previously they only had one, they split that to three and I am assuming that they will be splitting them up again. I asked the engineer if he had an ETA on the fix, and he didn’t have the slightest clue. But he said he would give me a call when he found out more information.

I noticed that my signal/power levels are well out of the optimal range as prescribed by this link: »/faq/7124.

Speedtest:

2005-10-16 23:01:19 EST: 188 / 186
Your download speed : 192919 bps, or 188 kbps.
A 23.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 191133 bps, or 186 kbps.

Tweaktest:

»/tweakr/···a=normal

Traceroute to Comcast.net (I'm connected wirelessly):

Tracing route to comcast.net [63.240.76.72]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 4 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 157 ms 613 ms 87 ms 10.184.16.1
3 1233 ms 324 ms 94 ms 12.244.16.33
4 433 ms 102 ms 123 ms 12.244.69.197
5 763 ms 132 ms 94 ms 12.244.69.201
6 82 ms 408 ms 406 ms 12.127.32.85
7 1036 ms 267 ms 162 ms tbr1-p012301.sffca.ip.att.net [12.123.13.173]
8 2126 ms 375 ms 332 ms tbr1-cl1.cgcil.ip.att.net [12.122.10.5]
9 156 ms 359 ms 100 ms tbr1-cl14.n54ny.ip.att.net [12.122.10.1]
10 823 ms 333 ms 112 ms 12.122.81.1
11 428 ms 351 ms 151 ms mdf1-gsr12-2-pos-7-0.nyc3.attens.net [12.122.255
.162]
12 * 426 ms 378 ms sccsbix12-1-4.attbi.com [63.240.64.46]
13 * * * Request timed out.
14 * * * Request timed out.
15 601 ms 153 ms 124 ms www.comcast.net [63.240.76.72]

Trace complete.

Diagnostics:

Thomson RCA Modem

Status Code:
Operational
Software Version:
ST.24.0C.20
Software Model:
0719
Bootloader:
04.01
Cable Signal Details

Forward Path:
Signal Acquired at 554.960 MHz
SNR: 29.9 dB
Received Signal Strength: -20.7 dBmV
Micro-Reflections: 24 dBc
Modulation: 256 QAM
	Return Path:
Connection: Acquired
Frequency: 33 MHz
Power Level: 55.0 dBmV
Channel ID: 1
Modulation: 16 QAM

Data Service Details

Provisioned Address: Yes
Provisioned Time: Yes
Provisioned Configuration: Yes
Registered: Yes
BPI: Enabled

Thanks for the help in advance guys :).
