Speaking of which, older versions of SARA did not even detect and format different hard drives... <br><br>Well, good to hear it's worked for someone now anyway!<br><br>For those feeling frisky, external SATA drives shouldn't be disabled on Explorer 8300's. Do note you have to get the Maxtors (and some WDs, I think) which specifically mention Explorer support, and that they're not officially supported by Videotron yet. ;)]]></description>

Now I can record 150+ hours :) Thats good for archive good movie and tv series :D<br><br>No temp warning or shit like that ... Ive keept the old one ... I will plug it in the SATA port later !]]></description>

Maxtor makes some that are certified to work with the 8300 (Quickview Expander line). But I don't know if there is a hook the Videotron's firmware to prevent it.
