Diddy1 : Ya, from my old experimental RF days, the cable is not enough cause it is must be terminated. I mean the pigtail/cable provides resistance only if it is terminated so I don't think the pigtail is enough without some terminating device, like an antenna, is connected. I'd hate to fry my first Deliberant!
Aaron

We suggest they have it hooked up to *something* when they fire it up, so a small pigtail/rubberducky or a longer pigtail (like the one that comes with it) should suffice.

Tim, no pcmcia card in this one.
Diddy1 : Ok, the manual esplains how to configure etc. this radio but. I ordered without integrated antenna. So, if I power this unit up, will I burn out the radio without an antenna installed? I remember from the Ham/CB radio days, you don't power up unless you have an antenna or load connected to prevent burnout of RF amps. So, can I power this up without a load???
Aaron
