IGGY : Is there a direct link to that thread? Or would it be easy to find on their site? Which heading is it under? That sounds like it might be worth a read.

I'm still holding to my original comments on this though. Insight would really have to come out hard and heavy with features and low pricing before I'd switch from my current provider. I highly doubt Insight would match the $19.95 pricing and features list of my current provider. If they charge what other cable providers are asking for VOIP. There is no way I'm going to switch.
--
Test Your Security Cable DiagnosticsIggyz Blog ZoneAlarm Help

SauceMaster : Too bad they don't offer it in my area , from what I understand it's not in alot of Insight area's. What I was told it cost about $500.00 per node to upgrade for the phone service and I was pretty much told not to hold my breath on seeing it in my area anytime soon.
--
Broadcasting The Classic Hits 24/7 SauceMaster Radio!!!!

epsonliquid : I had it for over a year and it never went out. It is VOIP because when a plugged in my VOIP enabled Cisco Ubr924 cable modem it detected VOIP on the network. The box on the outside of the house is just a cable modem with a VOIP ata converter inside running off the power insight is running down the lines now (90 volts I think) The only reason I got rid of the service was I never used my landline. So I got packet8 for a landline $19.99 ($20.55 when its all said and done) unlimited long distance. I would recommend Insight phone to anyone that isn't ready to switch Vonage or Packet8.

Engineer_TA : I've had the service for about 6 months with no hiccups. I don't think it's VOIP, simply a converter box at the end of the cable that replaces your existing phone line. The caller ID shows up different (In Lexington) than Alltel did, but no big issues. A few bucks cheaper than Alltel.
