It makes sense in hockey because it is a tradition, but there is little reason to implement it into baseball now.

Shaking hands meant something to me. I am sure it meant something to many of the other players as well.

Pretty nice article about the suggestion made by kids to have the sox and yankees shake hands before their games.

It would be purely cosmetic, but a nice gesture nonetheless.
