I too have the same modem. I do get close to advertised speeds, so I am in no hurry to switch.

Unless you are having problems that can be pinpointed to the modem. It wouldn't hurt anything to upgrade to the SB5100. But there is no use spending the money. Unless you know your experiencing a problem that is caused by your current modem.

That said I upgraded my old 3Com when Insight stated they were upgrading to the newer DOCSIS standard. My old modem would still work just fine I'm sure. But I wanted the newer technology.

I only bought my Motorola because the 3Com I bought from @Home years ago stopped working.

Would I benefit by getting a new cable modem? It looks like the only difference between this old modem and some of the modern ones is that it only is DOCSIS 1.0, just from a quick scan of the specs of a few.
