It wouldn't hurt anything to upgrade to the SB5100. But there is no use spending the money. Unless you know your experiencing a problem that is caused by your current modem.<br><br>That said I upgraded my old 3Com when Insight stated they were upgrading to the newer DOCSIS standard. My old modem would still work just fine I'm sure.
