Down again in 415. Second major outage in two days.

Down in 330 area code also. This is getting a little ridiculous, second day in row at prime time business hours. I expect better reliability than a fair weather service.

What bothers me is the lack of information. We never found out what happened yesterday and here it happens again. At least tell us what has occurred before we think about leaving for more stable waters.

Down in 440-Just tried calling from 2 cell phones-getting fast busy and all circuits busy. Funny, I saw the link for yesterdays outage thinking it was today. I tried calling my number and saw it wasn't working!

Yes and I have come to the conclusion the only thing stable and reliable is a wired land line connection.

My Dashboard now says:

Customers may be experiencing an issue with receiving inbound calls and placing outbound calls due to a network issue. This problem is also impacting availability of our web site.

Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Vonage Canada down too

Both website and MTA down here in 780. Had the same thing as DylanL and fegul, connected for a couple of seconds then went down again.

Re: [Vonage] Is Vonage Down?

I was able to get into my dashboard too, what could cause both their service AND website to go down at the same time?

I have the phone number of the Vonage CTO (and no, I don't intend to post it).

I called it from a pots line. I do get his voicemail, but it's choppy. So my guess is he's getting an awful lot of calls.

I left a message but I really don't expect a callback.

This is the second timw we've experienced a complete outage.

From what I can tell vonage has 7 primary SIP "hosts" it sends people to: atlas2.atlas.vonage.net - atlas8.atlas.vonage.net

Each of them has 4 IP's all in the 216.115.25.0/24 address space. It looks like most or all of them are hosted in/near Edison, NJ so the outage is not area specific.

(eg. it is the central servers)

The switches are not down, and the network is also not down.

So it really looks like a database problem on their end impacting all vonage subscribers. (this is where the switches get their information for you)

It might just be their only single point of failure, and it looks like it just failed.

Yep...too much expansion and not enough time spend investing in the network infastructure.
