Re: [COMCAST] i-Guide You will be disappointed. Only the DVRs have the new guide. The standard DCT-2x series and even the hi-def 6200s still have the tan guides. -- Comcast BBQ |

 | Are you referring to me? Becase in my area, when I called comcast on the 15th there was a message about the new guide and I have talked to people who have regular digital cable and they have it. |
 | And I called and they said it was on them. |

 | Is it much faster then the other one? Because with my old cable box the tan guide took forever. I could remember it would download the show information titles one by one and just took so much time. Is this still the case? |

If you don't have the new guide on your current digital box, then I would be very surprised you will have it on the new box. Generally, they roll the guide out to all of the boxes of the same type at the same time. -- Comcast BBQ |

 | Just wondering . . . what color does everyone have it on? I think its harder to read then the other one. Well, I do have it on my new digital box, but not my HD. My OnDemand is also taking a very long time to download. Hopefully there isn't a problem. It is saying there is a communications error but I think it might just be saying that because all of my programing info isn't ready yet. |

They rolled it out to the same type (6412) at the same time, while they didn't roll it out to say, the 6200 series. -- Comcast BBQ |

 | Does anyone see the TV screen up in the right hand corner on their guide? Does this not come up until everything is fully downloaded? I am using the 2200 series box I believe. |
mbernsteBoostedPremium,MVM join:2001-06-30 Piscataway, NJ | I believe the DCT-2000 series (except maybe the 2500) can't do video scaling, so it won't have the screen in the right. -- Comcast BBQ |

I'm not 100% sure but on the older boxes they don't have the ability to scale video. In other words, show it in the upper right. |
neilnr join:2004-01-03 Garland, TX | It's the 2500 and higher that can scale the video not anything below, I think. That's what I've heard from the past posts and when reading the pdfs of the set-top boxes. |
 | I have a DCT-2000 in two rooms.. both have video scaling disabled. So, I presume they aren't capable of video scaling |
 | Has anyone recieved a communications error with OnDemand? I am going to try and unplug my box and plug it back in. I just picked up the box from my office today and hooked it up at about 4:30 and all of the programing information hasn't downloaded yet (its 10:00 P.M. EST.) Also, on my HD box, everything takes about 20min. to download... |

| Daniel- That most likely means they didn't activate the box for you - if you know how to get into the boxes diagnostic menu (Hit cable, then power off, then hit the Round OK button) - go to the option that will show you if the box has an IP address. I forget which one it is off the top of my head.
If you don't have an IP address there - that is the reason. -- "When I say PENN...you say STATE!!" |

mbernsteBoostedPremium,MVM join:2001-06-30 Piscataway, NJ | reply to Daniel8802 JeepMatt is right. A couple of years ago when I self-swapped my box, the folks at the Avenel office said they provisioned it, but they didn't. I had to call Comcast up and give them the GI number of the box for them to activate it. The GI number will be on a sticker either on the side of the box or on the bottom. -- Comcast BBQ |
