At least comcast is finally availabe here, and supposedly with 6/768 availabe Q1-2005. If Bellsouth keeps it up like this, I'll be more than happy to relinquish myself to a monopoly I used to loathe, but their network seems to be maturing faster. We just got cable modems here 3 1/2 months ago and already the speed is increasing... Bellsouth should take notice.

The distance charts that are published are very very pessimistic. I work at an independent telco, and have tested 10+Mbps at 14K+ ft out (my house). I have also tested over 1.5mbps at 22Kft out, but I didn't try to test for max speed at this distance. Because their competition isn't at over 6 Mbps.
