They back-dated the cancellation to the day they released the phone number.

At this point if you're satisfied Vonage has the line and it's working well, go ahead and call the local telco.

[Vonage] line transfer

martissimo : I'll start with a little background information here, I used to have 2 phone numbers a voice and fax. When I ordered Vonage I went with the phone number transfer thing from our voice line that everyone allready knew the number from (kept the alternate with basic service until we decided on how satisfactory the VOIP line is). So it all went pretty smooth, number started working over Vonage a lot quicker than advertised in fact!

Anyways it's been well over a week since our Vonage line started ringing for incoming calls, but if I pick up a phone on the old line it still has service and not with the number we kept (if we call our own vonage number it takes you straight to the voicemail enter code thing). I remember reading a post a while back recomennding NOT to contact the phone company for at least a few days if this sort of thing happenned as it might take a "few days" before it's sorted out at their end... Seeing as how it has been at least a week and actually closer to two, should i be conidering doing anything yet? Would hate to make a mess of what has so far been handling itself very nicely on its own.

That said, a bill for a line that is not in use for the last week or two is also something I would prefer to avoid if possible ;)
