Unable to load You Tube videos_SOLVED_NOT!

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem where when you try to watch a You Tube video nothing happens and after an extended period of time You Tube tells you an error has occured please try later??? I have disconnected all of my networking gear and gone direct to the modem with no positive effects. I have even used a brand new machine to remove the possibility of a malware or virus issue and still same problem. This is pretty frustrating when someone sends you a link to something and you can't watch it.

[OOL] Slow Speeds in Fairfield County, CT

I have been having connection speed issues for the past month and a half now.

I've been hoping that they would eventually pass however it seems as if the problem is getting worse.

I've just run a pingtest.net test, which is attached below.

Today is definitely one of the worst in terms of overall speed.

Anyone have any ideas for what I should do to remedy this problem?

[Optimum Voice] Questions about OV install

Hi!
I'm getting optimum voice this week. I just have some questions about the install and what to expect.

1. What type of modem will I get? Is it the SBV5220?

2. If it's that modem, do they include the backup battery? How long will the battery last in the event of a power outage? Does the battery only power the phone part, or will it provide power for the internet too?

3. I'm getting 2 lines installed. There's a phone jack right near where my current modem is, and it has both lines wired to it. Will they just be able to plug the modem into that after they disconnect the verizon lines from outside? Or do they need to do new wiring? The modem needs to go where the current one is, because that's where all of my network wiring meets up.

4. How long should an install take, assuming all the current wiring is ok?

5. Does heavy internet bandwith usage affect voice quality? Or can the modem compensate and automatically throttle for best quality?

6. Finally, I have a linksys wireless router (wrt54g v6, I believe). Will they be able to just keep this router hooked up as is?

Sorry about all of the questions, and I really appreciate everyone taking the time to help me out and answer them. It's been a while since I've had to deal with any of this stuff, so I've been a bit out of the loop on newer technology.

Thanks again!

[OOL] node split in west milford, NJ 07421

i was wondering if anyone had any experience with OOL splitting their node. I have been getting about 2.0 DL and 2.0 UL and after months of complaining, tech visits, and posts to the OOL direct forum i finally got this reply:

"We have been informed that an issue has been recognized on your node and an order has been put in to have the node split. As this can take several weeks to complete, we ask for your patience as a valued customer. The work will be done - we just can't give you a time frame right now. If you are willing to wait for the work to be done, you can check back with us in 2 - 4 weeks for an update (the work may even be completed by then). You can either call in to our 24/7 Technical Support center for an update or open a new post."

how long do you think i have to wait? we wouldn't be having this discussion if FIOS was available.

[iO] Picture on Screen "stretches" past available viewing area

Hi,

First, I'm not even sure if the problem I'm having is an issue with my STV or my TV. I'll describe the issue below, and let me preface everything with I know next to nothing about TVs. (I can't explain 480, 720, 1080 if you paid me.)

I have the SA 8300HD. My TV is a Sharp Aqous LC-42d43U.

Recently - a few weeks ago - the image on any channel on our TV seemed to "stretch" further than the TV allows. For example, when watching NBC, the NBC peacock at the lower right is anywhere between 50% and 0% viewable. (There are 4 settings on the TV itself - "stretch, "super-stretch", "sidebar" and "zoom" - and changing to any one of these values makes the issue better or worse.

We can see what we're watching, but heads are cut-off, and as I said above, the channel logo is cutoff anywhere between 50% and 100%.

After some testing a little bit ago, it seems the issue is with SD TV channels only. HD channels fit the screen perfectly.

Attached to this TV, I have my Xbox 360 and a DVD player. When playing games or watching movies, the screen is fine and there are no abnormalities. It's perfect.

Is this an issue with my TV or with the SA STB? About an hour ago, I performed a "hard reboot" of the SA STB by unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds, and turning it back on while holding down the POWER button. This did not resolve the issue.

Are there any further steps I could try? Does anyone think that this is an issue with the STB or the TV?

Any help would be appreciated, and, if it seems that this is an issue with the TV rather than with the CV-supplied SA STB, Mod, please move to a more applicable location.

Thanks!
