| IP Accounting: On Everyone, All the time I can only imagine what its costing them in processing power on the edge device for them to monitor and track every single MAC address out there. That alone has got to impact their edge routers.
And since they are upset with people on DOCSIS 2.0 using their minimal paid-for service then this will only accerate their position of terminating services for those that get upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0.
But I understand their need, and it has nothing to do with P2P. Its all about protecting their video market. If everyone streams their video (e.g. Vudu, Netflix) then why buy Comcast video service? | |

Because you are using a dragster vs a formula-one car.
There really hasn't been many quotes or analogies that people can't find errors with.
•"My minivan speedometer goes to 120 so my engine should be able to handle going 120mph all the time. Right?"
•"It says all-you-can-eat so I want to share the food with all my Internet friends around the world 7x24"
•"All our driveways are two cars wide so the highways should be (Number of driveways*2) wide to handle all our traffic at any time without congestion"
There is a difference in the costs to support commercial level services (7x24 CIR/SLA) vs residential level services. If you need commercial level service, spend the money that it costs to build it. I for one don't want my residential service rates raised to support your "share my DVD downloads with the world" needs.

| Bandwidth Tracking I use smoothwall express it is a linux based firewall that all my traffic runs threw. lol my router died, Torrening traffic killed it , even when I ant downloading or anything got alot of people trying to connect to me. AT least I assume it is torrenting people, could be malicious stuff trying to hammer me again. lol I know a few websites that had group of people that hated my website, smoothwall was really only way I could have internet with people doing Denial of service attacks my internet.
