 That's Funny

Every time I pay my broadband bill I feel like I am being penetrated by my ISP. You know where.

8th place isn't so bad.

Hey it's top 10 at least. Our nation is not like a world power or anything.

Greed is also to blame for wanting faster speeds for spending the same amount of money (actually, most people would prefer to pay less).

While not specifically Romanian, their surge in throughput may have been aided by:
one gigabit per second speeds are also available through the new “Beeline” service, launched in the Ukraine

I'd love to have a connection faster than 5 Mbps...

Actually, I'd love to even be AT 5Mbps. I live in an older duplex and the copper in here won't support my DSL going up to its full potential. I'm getting, most days, somewhere in the 3's.

Re: Can we get some Japanese style internet?

As soon as we shrink down the size of the US so that rural areas are gone or next to nothing.

OR

Increase the population density like crazy so that ISPs can make huge profit off subscriptions... then maybe they would consider reinvesting money to upgrade.

How will I sleep at night?

Wow, 7 whole countries in the entire world have faster internet than we do. This is a catastrophe of epic proportions, how is a person supposed to sleep knowing that?? I mean, its not like there are millions of more important things to worry about these days, right?

Re: That's Funny

When you look at the other countries on the list (with the exception of Sweeden really) most of the countries are quite small, therefore the population is more condensed, and everything is easier to wire. Its tough and not-money smart for US-ISPs to get broadband to rural folks in wyoming

Penetrating

I am penetrating the Internet at FTTH speeds of 20/20 with nary a mention by Akamai's report. Is not my penetration worth mentioning?

Re: Delaware Baby!

26% of broadband of users on connections greater than 5 Mbps.

And with all the people that access to ComCrap's "awsome speeds" only 26% of users have over 5Mbps. Could that be because, as I have said many times before, MOST people simply DON'T NEED super high speed internet? Granted, many can't get it but if you listen to ComCrap Rick, DOCSIS 3 and FIOS can't get here soon enough becuase the whole country MUST HAVE 100Gbps in order to survive.
