Comments on news posted 2008-09-17 10:18:46: The Inquirer is reporting that search giant Google will soon be purchasing video game developer Valve, which you might consider a strange purchase unless you're familiar with Valve's broadband game distribution platform, Steam. ..

steam is great as the game developers can sell the product for a decent price without spending piles of money for cd's/jewel cases/labels, packaging boxes, delivery to merchant stores, pay partial royalties to merchant stores. You wonder why your paying 50 bucks for a game that should only be 20 or lower. Besides cd's don't last forever, I lost count how many cd's went corrupt because the backing got scratched a tiny bit. Games that require you to leave the cd in the cd drive for checks is just gimp. For starters it destroys the lifespan of your cdrom drive.

I don't understand why there's so much hatred for google.

It's a bit of a slippery slope to assume there will be ads injected into anything.

Advertisments are the driving force behind the success of the search engine.

What's the deal with EA? I've played many of the titles they distributed, had no problems, no issues.
