I wonder if this has the effect of subscribers canceling their subscriptions.. as cable companies become more whorish on loading up on advertising money, just on the heels of subscription rate & fee increases. |

What I hate most about television will come to the internet. Inevitable, I suppose. Adblock Plus and, probably, NoScript will become truly essential (until they're outlawed).

WTF? people are worried about this? no normal person really sees the commercials as valued content, just something you put up with to pay for the actual show Or do they mean advertizers worry that people will reach their saturation point and tune out all commerials. or worse Joe Bob will make the "best commerial" of the year for under $1000, and their multi-billion dollar campaigns will pale in comparsion. |

While everyone is speculating about AT&T purchasing EchoStar how about Google purchasing EchoStar. Google does have the cash to do so. this would be yet another way for Google to get more advertising income. I can see it now the Google shopping channel. The only question would be why would the want too hmmmm -- Send a prayer to Allah, eat Beans. |

Honestly I doubt I've ever been persuaded to buy anything because of a commercial. |

Haha! As if commercials were ever going "uphill". |

| While there may be the occasional quality (read: humorous) commercial, in the grand scheme of things all commercial are detrimental to the TV watching experience, and also part of the reason I do not watch TV, nor have I subscribed to TV service of any kind. |

The purpose of a commercial isn't to persuade you to buy a product or service. Its purpose is to introduce you to the product or service. Once you are aware of the product you will research it and then perhaps buy it. |

See those commercials do not bother me much because they fit in the setting of the game. The areas that you skate around are supposed to be what you would find in your typical place people skate. And there are billboards all over the place in the real world. I draw the line on ingame advertising when i log on to World of Warcraft and get a loot off a mob that is the "verizon sword of smiting" or some other thing like this. |
