Vonage works fine here...

...and you can't beat their prices for international termination. I wish AT&T had screwed me sooner so I would've switched sooner.

i'm satisfied

Living in an apartment has forced me to get a landline for the door buzzer - packages, friends, etc. I use my BlackBerry almost exclusively so I wanted a really really cheap landline. Vonage has the cheapest I've found and it works great. I don't have any problems with it. I have a number, caller ID, and voicemail. Granted I don't really use any of those its nice to have in the future. The price at $15 a month is a deal. Similar cable and standard phone rates are nearly double that.

Quality deteriorating and then there's customer service

After several years of excellent quality phone conversations, I have noticed deteriorating quality, frequent complaints from callers about dropped conversation, and a recent horrible experience with trying to get a new installation up and running for my daughter.

It seems inevitable that I will become part of the churn, and because of the aggravation and time involved in trying to resolve these issues.

They sure seemed to waste a lot of money on advertising, and that stock offer (just prior to the rash of litigation) still appears suspect to me. I would feel more comfortable if I knew someone would buy them out soon..here's hoping!
