Where are our automated corporate defenders to laud this initiate that is pro consumer because it is, after all, targeted at the consumer?
NV
edit: There are few things more entertaining than posts who chide me for failing to get the sarcasm of the OP article; while they, in turn, fail to get the sarcasm within this post.
Thanks! |

NV Hm.. this is a fake memo. It's not real. It's not true. So you won't see any "automatic corporate defenders" here, as this is a joke. |

Those of you who are old enough to remember the Mad Magazine spoof of razor blades back in the 50's & 60's, with 3, 4 & 5 blades on the razors are now shaking their heads with amazement to see that these razors are now reality.
I don't want to see that happen with Comcast . . . poking fun by suggesting something completely off the wall, and then seeing Comcast actually implement it. -- Ö¿Ö The Rules of Spam | Maryland's Newest Anti-Spam Law Where are we going? And what's with the hand basket? |

...but not so much when they start doing stuff like this on a regular basis.
this sounds exactly like what the ILECs would like to do with the internet - every transaction and every bit monetized. |

After the recent brouhaha over Comcast's traffic shaping practices, Maximum PC has a bit of fun at the company's expense. They've penned a fantastic fake internal memo from a company executive to Comcast's board of directors, outlining their plans for broadband domination. Any bets on how many folks fail to read these first two sentences and think this is a real memo? -- If they told you wolverines would make good house pets, would you believe them? -"Planes, Trains & Automobiles" |

What we have is a story on a fake memo, a parody on a fake (manufactured )news story about Comcast Caps. How ironic. |

These are made all the time on YouTube - nothing special really...or maybe I just don't get it. the point here is, is to keep the BS throttling and BT 'blockage' that Comcast is doing in the front of the news as a way to pressure them to stop (or at least fix things)
I, for one, found this parody quite funny (and seriously hope Comcast gets no ideas from it) and right on time.. It shows how bad a Mega-Corp could be. |

quote: The memo also advises the company move to a "per-protocol pricing structure," where users pay more for the honor of using more popular Internet protocols. Telnet, which only comprises 0.0001% of overall Comcast network traffic, would only cost Comcast customers $0.02/month.
