| The anouncement is a lot more than the 20/20 First off, like many OOL people will tell you, the vast majority of broadband users do not care about the UL, just the DL. Second, when I was ordering the 20/20 tonight I mentioned to the sales person that the site was very slow tonight and she said it was because of a new offer tomorrow for the triple play in many states. That doesn't even make sense so I am going out on a ledge here and saying it is TV related or price reductions. | |

| Upstream not a big thing to general public Why announce the 20/20 package? Most of the general public doesnt use their upstream. So having this huge announcement for it I think wont do much good.
Cablevision already has a package with more downlaod 38/5 so announcing a 20/20 package wont do any good.
Has to be something else. | |

1 edit | I drempt... That the big announcement is that Vz. has won a contract with the fine folks that build those wireless ankle bracelets for those on house arrest.
Now those on house arrest also have to buy and keep activated a Vz WiFi connection to the card which also has GPS in it to stay on house arrest! --

join:2001-03-07 Pittsburgh, PA | Yep, its the 20/20 "Symmetrical Tier" service. Available only in NY, NJ, and CT. There is also a new "High-speed Tier" of 50Mbps/5Mbps.
And the usual "Mid-Tier" 20/5 and "Standard Tier" 10/2.
Notice the lack of 5/2. | |

@tmodns.net | 20/20 Tier CONFIRMED! This is 100% confirmed...just check the slides on the webcast page. There will be a consumer 20/20 tier added! Lots of upload speed, but still not exactly as groundbreaking as I had hoped.

| Re: Good grief They are doing it to compete with Cablevision. Notice how it is only available in states where Cablevision operates. They really should have gone to 30/30 since they can and that way they match the Cablevision top tier plan (Boost) for download and then trounce it on the upload. | |
