| reply to StraitShoot Oh Yea!
I just hate it when I buy their AV software, and then it goes and scans my system for viruses, and then sometimes it finds some viruses and cleans them up.
That's tricky, let me tell you.
And my keyboard is all crappy and nasty, dirty, I'd call it.
Yea, this whole Kaspersky thing is tricky and dirty, allright.

Unfortunately... I think companies have done that in the past. Spyware/Adware companies have become bed buddies with AV vendors. -- Canada = Hollywood North |

This decision is fantastic but in reading it I see a possible problem.
"However, the court points out that the statute clearly says that it's for what the service provider finds objectionable. In other words, the content in question need not be "objectionable" at all -- it only matters what the service provider feels about it. This is a pretty strong endorsement for the idea that security companies absolutely can call software whatever they feel is appropriate."
with this decision what is there to keep Comcast, Qwest, or Verizon who are service providers from finding Skype, consumer sites with information these providers do not like, bit-torrent, streaming radio, or whatever "objectionable" -- Remember safe sex does not prevent crabs. |
