Comments on news posted 2007-05-02 08:52:49: Comcast's launch of the triple-play bundle (aka TV, broadband and VoIP) in 2006 made it "one of the most important years in the company's history," says Comcast CEO Brian Roberts. ..

They call me once a week.....

.....to try and sell me this. Doesn't matter how many times you say no, they keep trying.

Of course, not for existing customers.

Standard introductory sales ploy - not for existing customers.

Probably works best if you're in a market served by 2 or more equivalent providers.

The switch back and forth, just after the "introductory" pricing ends? And sign up for a competitor's introductory deal?

If so, get a personal / vanity web domain and use that for your email address, so you don't have to have a vendor linked new email address every year. www.1and1.com, for one, provides domain name leasing with 1 email account for $6 / year.

for $99.00, it's a deal

But usually only for 3-6 months. Afterwards, that 'savings' evaporates to a $250.00 a month bill. That means in a full year, you'll be paying comcast over $3,000.00. That's an awful lot of money for 150 channels of crap, capped internet, and dodgy voip service.

I'd pass...

Not sure where you do your math but i pay 170 a month for all 3 now and for doggy VOIP you must be talking about Vonage because my CDV works so much better.have you had CDV? i bet not.

He was probably factoring in the next price hike to take place between the time he hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button and the time the post was actually visible to other forum members

I pay Echostar $43 a month, Comcast $58 and Vonage $31, for a total of $132. Each one of these providers needs to earn my money each and every month, or I'll switch. Why would I want lock myself into a single provider for all 3 and pay more?

Comcast is on a roll..

I have all three and very happy with the service. I have noticed that over the year the service has been getting a lot better. I have a great signal, clear picture, a "Superfast" internet connection and great phone service. Also here in Lancaster we now have Power boost or Burst on both upload and download. So for now I have no beef with Comcast, but still wish everyday I had FiOS!! Verizon ROCKS! Have a good day ALL!

Re: for $99.00, it's a deal

My Comcast Triple Play is $146.00 + PPV - Thats the Digi 2000 package (Standard + Two Premiums (I picked SHO and HBO since that adds 3 additonal HDTV channels)), HSI (6/384), Digital Phone (Seperate bandwidth from HSI). That includes the SA 8300HD HDTV Box and HDTV Premium Tier. As Memphis just recently switched from Time Warner to Comcast there has been some channel changeups in the HDTV Premium Tier but so far Im happy with the service and one bill to pay.

Re: They call me once a week.....

Once I get my little wiring project done in my house, it will make it much easier to swith providers.

The main problem is that they can call me because I have a relationship with them and even if I were to cancel, they can still call for up to 18 months after.

"If you make a specific request to that company not to call you, however, then the company may not call you, even if you have an established business relationship with that company."

I've had to write a couple of letters (they seem to do the most good)...

You can opt out of their marketing calls. Each time they call tell them to put you on their do not call list. Then, on the third call after that file a complaint with the FTC/FCC site. That generally gets their attention.

call comcast and ask them to mark your account non-solicitation if comcast is calling it will stop it does take a couple weeks at the most so they contact the telemarketers to remove you from callback list. had it done to mine, have them make it no contact at all and you will stop getting the mailers as well.

yeah, the cable voip's tend to work better, in my opinion. You never see me post about outages, just TWC in general, occasionally. I kinda like the VoIP w/the matching internet service.
