... every Miss America pageant contestant says so. But is what Geldof putting together a channel advocating for World Peace or just another left-wing attempt at promoting world socialist government. And, of course, they will go after the kids before they have the critical thinking skills necessary to smell out BS when it is foisted upon them.
He hasn't laid out any details yet of the programming or who will be providing it, but skepticism is the order of the day until the programming details can be examined.
His "Peace Channel" may just be a PR tactic to get publicity for his new business ventures:

And OT, I've realized that if some people were to change their display name and avatar, I wouldn't know who they were save the signature. If the person changed that as well, I'd be dumbfounded.
I know TCH by his always posting the 'news' icon when he posts, and other peoples avatars or sigs give away who they are. Take you, Transmaster. I know your sig used to say something about 50,000 volts and how you weren't playing around, or something to that affect. And you've had your avatar for some time now

Bob Geldof is a major advocate for the elimination of global poverty. He has dedicated his life to the cause of social justice, much to the dismay of the right wing whacko's, whose motto is best summed up as 'kick em down, and keep em down'.
The BS being foisted upon today's kids is the crap the megacorps try and push down their throats. If it weren't for LIBERAL programs like sesame street, and PBS, today's kids would be force fed a message of pokeman and transformers.
It's time to stand up to the corporate oppressors, and support GOOD works like this channel. Every kid we teach to think critically about the difference they can make in the world, is a kid who provides VALUE to society. Every kid who grows up on force fed, right wing, christian conservative values is another nutjob who probably believes blowing up abortion clinics is a good thing.

What is kind of funny is the picture Bob I used is from the quoted article on the mast head of this thread. You would have thought they would have used one more flattering.
These type of endeavors are alway hilarious to me. There is the Free Speech TV on Dish Network. The speech on this channel is about as free as that in Iran. If you don't have the left of the left Wing point of view of the management you don't get on. It seem like every time I look in on this channel there is some butt ugly woman screaming at the top of her lungs about how she has been discriminated against by evil men. If she would just look at herself she would realize if you have the personality of a rabid baboon nobody is going to have anything to do with you.

What the neocons don't seem to realize is that worldwide peace, liberty, and equality are more products of socialist structures, as opposed to capitalistic structures. Capitalism, at least in it's modern Western version, is basically a gigantic "pyramid" scheme.
Oh I forgot to tell you to keep being a good little consumer and do your duty of buying disposable plastic lawn toys from wallmart and contribute to the "help China buy US debt" fund. |
