I KNEW IT!
Now we know who blew up the Uverse cabinet!

Unfortunately for AT&T though, they really don't need anyone to sabotage their equipment or service.
They seem to do a good enough job at it themselves. -- The life you help save just might be your own Team Discovery |

Here in Albany, NY a Time Warner technican tore apart all the wiring in the basement for their digital phone service. When I canceled Digital phone and got Verizon they were angered they had to fix all the wiring Time Warner tore apart. |

I like the tag line for this article.

Anywho, this ought to be interesting for me since I live in San Antonio (an apartment no less). Oh, and on a side note, the guy in gray who ends in the pool reminds me of my city's old mayor who goes by the name of "Howard Peak".

| ATT doesn't play too fair
ATT (SBC) techs rips my stuff out all the time. I work for a CLEC in Wisconsin and their techs, in certain areas, completely destroy my wiring and equipment and then tell the client that their downtime wouldn't have happened if they wouldn't have switched or if they switch back ASAP, they can get the problem fix "Today".. |

lol TWC doesn't even need to get involved sometimes to "sabotage" their competitors back when i use to install for Dish Network there were tons of houses here wired for cable only (meaning you'd have to rewire the entire house to get any connection to a room) |

they don't try to use this as an excuse for why they haven't deployed their latest half assed solution to 15-20 markets in the next 17 days, i will allow the whining. AT&T wants to be a baby, then fine. be a baby. baby want its bottle? |

"tore apart" means they disconnected you from a powered Verizon line and connected your house to the VOIP service... thats a good thing. Verizon techs hate to do ANY work...especially the old NYNEX union boys.

| The Cable Guys don't know what they are doing
This is a result of "cable guys" trying to do phone work. They typically have no experience in telephony and poor training. Sure, they can check for dial tone, but let them try to troubleshoot a ciruit. Also, I don't think they are even aware of regulatory things like DEMARCATION POINTS. The cable wanna-be-telco companies need to actually train their people. |

Just as Telco guys don't know how to install equip in an inconspicuous manner. I can't tell you how many times I see demarc grounds that are completely ineffective. Yes, the tag is on it, the rod clamp and/or split bolt is on and tightened. But to what? A powdercoated piece of metal, or a painted, or masonry compound coated ground rod? The best is see a split bolt attached to a painted #6 ground.

I'm from Albany, NY too and didn't notice my Time Warner technician tearing anything apart. Disconnecting the phone so that he could connect it to the digital phone system? Yes. Tearing it out so that it wouldn't work anymore? No. (Then again, we haven't tried to switch back to Verizon. And aren't likely to.) |
