I tend to dislike Synamtec for making overly bloated software nowadays, but I have to give them kudos for this one! |

So what you're saying is, they should have verified that the real conditions and the actual situation was analyzed using real information by people who actually knew what they were doing, and who's primary interest was making sure the end result was true and accurate and did not reflect any personal bias?

When you're right, you're right. In fact, this type of gross negligence should never be tolerated from anyone, ever. Further, the people responsible for foolish mistakes like this who are charged with the duty of making sure they DON'T happen should be held personally responsible when their incompetence affects so many people. -- Burrow owl...burrow owl... |

I stopped using Nortons Internet Security because of their blunder two years ago (less two months) when a botched update resulted in 50%-100% CPU usage when using any browser. Thanks to the great people here at BBR we found a solution in a couple weeks, took Symantec a month. This was one of the times that the people I know who never update their programs were lucky. |

Could this have also affected Netscape and Firefox? Starting on Saturday I was not able to connect using those two browsers. IE was working fine.

I switched from Norton to AVG 2 months ago. My PC is noticeably faster! As a matter of fact, I moved 3 PCs over to AVG. I haven't caught a single virus and my PC is much quicker. I'll never go back to that bloatware. |
