| Now that AT&T bought out SBC I am very interested in the developments of the project moving forward. But being around these parts (DSLunderground) they have been promising stuff for years.
So, I will sit patiently with the wait and see attitude. |

Wow, makes me want to get fiber only and keep Directv for my TVs... Maybe somebody can explain me why I should be excited about IP TV. It seems to me that we're trying to solve a technical problem that does not exist. That 19 MBps is not enough to supply 4 video feeds if 2 or 3 of them will be HD, so what's the point? |

well, just for the simple fact that they haven't done anything to show what their intentions are. However, they have announced that they are scaling back their plans to deploy ADSL2+ and VDSL.
Other than that, all we've heard is BS whining about Google getting a "free ride" on their networks and how BS should be getting paid from Google, to use their network.
Utter and complete rubbish, is all that we have heard from BellSouth in recent months. Now granted, I realize that just because they haven't issued a bunch of press doesn't mean they aren't doing anything, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Besides, my ISP isn't BellSouth anyway but it would be nice to know that this particular RBOC cared about it's market...all of it's market, not just the most profitable, or high income areas. -- Forget 'em, Support the Indies.»www.ind-music.com |

I take it then that you know all the inner workings and upgrades that BellSouth has or has not been doing. Just because you don't "see" anything happening or read press releases does not mean they are sitting on their hands. Keep in mind that companies are not obligated to give daily press briefings on each phase of their network upgrades. |

Save the rumors and conjecture until the product rolls out. I was skeptical at first, but have seen it working and was impressed. |

In fact, I think I made my statement perfectly clear that "...I realize that just because they haven't issued a bunch of press doesn't mean they aren't doing anything..."
I was just stating my dissatisfaction with the current state of things here in BellSouth country. -- Forget 'em, Support the Indies.»www.ind-music.com |

deployment has a lot to do with a state's franchise agreements, for instance, Texas eliminated the need for T to get agreements from each city, now only has to set agreements at the state level. 2 things happened as a result, T has greatly increased their IP deployment and Charter CATV has announced lower prices |
