It's so easy to do! Make a timely decision to bail them out, knowing full well that the hurricane will hit the city, and within a time frame that compels people with no money to get on board school buses for a quick ride out of the city to ... where's that again? Oh yeah, where they'll be so totally welcome it's a done deal.
Maybe somewhere like your house!! You do want to help the poor folks, right? Why not just blame the victims, it's so much easier than holding anyone accountable who isn't a personal fave. Those really nice people in the parish over the bridge from the dome were sooo worried they wouldn't be able to, uh, accommodate the poor folks properly, they simply had their local police dept block the bridge into their town! Nothing worse than hosting a bad block party. But I know YOUR neighborhood would have welcomed those good folks with open arms, 'cause yawl's god fearin folk!

If the Mayor had loaded those hunderds school buses with the citizens of New Orleans who didn't have a way out, instead of using the excuse they where not air conditioned and had uncomfortable seats, they would have been taken care of you can be sure of this, the same military that moved 10's of thousands of people out the the Super dome, The New Orleans Convention Center in 24 hours, supplied millions of MRE's, 100's of thousands of gallons of fresh water and thousand of tons of ice would have taken care of these people. Mayor Nagin would today be considered a hero, and not the sorriest excuse for a big city mayor in the history the United States.

You can pick whatever card from the deck you wish to explain why that is or isn't true.

As for the facts:
If you want to sight the bridge blocking fine. These poor suffering people, who I watched with my own eyes while they looted, pillaged, and brutalized the City of New Orleans, I would have kept them out too.

| The con game I have to laugh at the "no additional charge" bit.
Around here, Time Warner also plays that game and then raises rates after several months anyway.
They also add channels few people want and charge more again after a while.
It's all a big con game. | |
