| WinVi? Taken from bink.nu... quote: I've started some discussion with fellow site owners, and we've decided that Windows Vista's abbreviation should be WinVi.
Here's the reasoning:
* Vi is the first two letters of Vista * Windows Vista is Windows NT 6.0. In Roman Numerals VI is the number six.
Sounds good to me... | |

1 edit | Vista will not fly - Hasta la vista - VISTA
Good bye VISTA Microsoft has plans to lease VISTA on Monthly and Yearly Bases IT departments will not be able to afford this type of operation. Consumers will be discouraged by the leasing factor.
hasta la vista microsoft. Time to switch to linux

| Windows Vista Boot up 50% faster Ok people I seen someone say that they always say the system will boot up faster then it did before and none of them have. Now they said it would boot up faster. They were saying it would boot up faster then it would when the OS was originally was written. But now this time they said it would boot up 50% faster than XP. Yea it'll boot up faster if you have the system they tell you that you need. And I'm not talking about the minimum requirements. I am talking about the system they think everyone should already have. The 3 plus ghz system with 3 gigs of ram. When a new OS is written they just pile on more crap in startup that isn't needed. I would be willing to suffer application startup time some to get a faster bootup time. The way to fix that I believe would be not to load some things until a program calls upon it. I don't know how to make programs but I am willing to bet that more then half the stuff Windows initiates on startup doesn't need to be. The least used things shouldn't be initiated until called upon by a program. Just me 2 cents. | |

So I suppose it'll still be 50% slower than 2000, and 90% slower than 98SE | |
