It CAN be used for legal purposes

...only it had to become popular first, so it could be adopted by the masses. It wasn't likely for that to happen unless it was a popular purpose -- like pre-release movie and music distribution.

In my opinion, looking for music illegally was a lot easier in the old days... now it's just easier to get it from iTunes et al.

I'm not a troll but I think people should get paid for their work. How would you like it if someone was blatantly ripping you off?

Re: Little boys

The less people know about newsgroups the better.

ugh 21

Hi

"How would you like it if someone was blatantly ripping you off?"

They aren't ripping off an individual. They are ripping off a company. Bad comparison, wrong argument.

We do get ripped off for our work. Its called income tax or property tax. Or speeding tickets.

Re: Before the trolls post..

How do you feel about ripping off the artist that made the pic's you show? Did you pay them? Sure the text mite be yours but the picture is not. Don't illustrators have rights too?

The jim B pic is from a pirate picture site that sells Tee shirts without the consent of the owners. They are making money off this and pirating the industry your trying to protect. AHAH what a joke!

Warez know the true rule do not sell for profit and support the industry in every group NFO.

You are a mockery of what you say.

Don't forget cable TV's always rising rates.School tax hikes.A right to work tax.Politicians yearly benefit packages and pay increases.
Ex presidents lifetime security, lifetime free no postage needed perk.Phishing scams. We the sheeple are getting ripped off in so many ways.Yet continue bending over for it.I find it alarming that you're offended about a stupid song or picture being used.Honestly I'm not wanting to flame you.To each his own though.

I'd like to see the **AAs shut down the Chinese, Russian, and Eastern European country's "illegal" BT sites.

Oh wait, thats right, they can't! Love live the global, unregulated Internet!

Ripping off artists?

The real people behind ripping off the artists is the companies. They take almost every bit of profit from sold CD's. The only way an artist makes his/her money is by doing concerts.

I don't agree with any argument about "ripping off the artists".

I also love how dumbwitted people are. People still follow organizations like the MPAA even though they tell lies. The MPAA complains about losing money even though they are setting records. Look at movies like Star Wars and Spider-Man 2. Piracy was at its most last year and they still set records!

Re: Before the trolls post..

Artists/actors get prepaid and/or complete their pay when their work is completed, not when the product goes public or is released to the public.

Music artists mainly receive their income from touring.
