Fat Stupid Hobbits!

..Typical MPAA making like Jesus flipping tables over at the market.

Ya know what MPAA? The moments i've had where i've actually glued my ass to the couch for the entier 30 minutes/hour a TV show airs are few and far between. If it's not the phone ringing off the hook, then it's the stove catching on fire. Running around like i do, one tends to miss quite a few segments here and there of their favorite tv shows.

So seeing as i've already sat through a majority of the commercials, you can go suck a big hairy donkey kong MPAA. What's more convenienant for me is still more important than what's convenienant for you.

what about the world without tv shows

the biggest thing that occurs here in australia is no sooner do they get you hooked on a show they cancel it so you never see it again unit the dvd comes out(if it comes out) or becuase all the networks are competing they show all the good shows at the same time so unless you have 3 vcrs you aint got a hope , and god forbid should there be a blackout during something important and then they have to try and find time to replay the show. sadly peoples lives have become to busy to be able to spend time watching tv when the "have" to but more wanting to watch the same shows but at there leisure. downloading had opened a whole new time frame to the world of being able to watch and not having to wait till the next season of idol or big brother has finished so you can finish watching a series.

$98 Billion

I wonder if they'll take a page from the RIAA's book, and sue a college student for $98 Billion

Grrr.

This is an old topic, but here is a thought. You're telling me that when I record that tv show that aired while I was at work onto (vhs), tivo, dvd-r. And distribute it to a friend to view (free of charge) I'm committing an illegal act?

That is ridiculous. The industry lost this battle 20+ years ago. They need to give it up. As far as television is concerned. I shouldn't be castrated because I want to use a supped up version of VHS (ie: my pc). It does the same damn thing that a tivo does. I don't see all the fucking people with Tivo getting sued and threatened, nor do I see cd-r drives, dvd-r drives being taken off shelves because they are deemed illegal.

Hell its the same gay companies that make these devices and turn around and try to sue you because you used their product to rip them off. As I recall Sony was the first to really turn out cd-r drives and the cd media. Now they bitch because we find other uses than what they had originally intended so they get all bent out of shape. Instead of moving onto something new they sue us to get back "damages".
