Covad is a great DSL provider but it's hard to compete agianst SBC and Verizon of the world.

Yeah, it would be, that's one reason why I'm not using it.
Another: for me broadband is fast enough, at 5mbit down I can get webpages fast enough...

Perhaps you are right.
It's will be interesting to see how this pans out.
I think you meant BellSouth since SBC will be offering the Covad lines.

So SBC/ATT are going to be the bad boys of the telco industry.
