Do what ya gotta do

It's bad enough that Comcast is my ONLY option for cable broadband in my area, but I'm not going to let them get me down. I've been surfing trouble free all week using any one of the DNS servers from this list...

I knew the issues we had recently were due to DNS server problems but when I got to the comcast.net help site the network status page said nothing (just blank). I tried to log on to live chat help and saw a vague note about network problems. I don't understand why they cannot be straightforward about their problems and estimated resolution time and place this information in a more prominent place like their homepage, a cable channel, or on their 800# which I did try and got no message as some others did. I waited on hold for 10 minutes then gave up because I figured it wouldn't help anyway. I just wanted a straight answer from someone. I don't expect perfection all the time, things happen...I just want honesty and clarity.

I got sick of the high prices and poor service that I get from Comcast several months ago so I called to cancel my service. I now pay 1/2 price since. I'm not sure how long they will continue to give me a discount but it has been going on for 4 months now and I'm not going to quesiton it. I have a feeling it will end soon but at that time I will either call to cancel again and either continue to get 1/2 price service or move to another high speed service unless something changes for the better.

Sucks that is the only ISP for me....

I really would not mind them if they had better pings, better stability and better prices. I don't care about customer support. I was with SBC and their was crap also. Most companies customer support I have ever used have been crap so that didn't surprise me with Comcast. They had friendly people like SBC but not knowledgeable at all sadly. They got half of customer support done. They have the patient friendly support but they lack knowledge.

Every business and every ISP has some problems that are not easy to understand. Too many people assume they know all the answers and how to fix all the problems. If you are so great at BB service, why not start your own? then I can connect to your service and bitch, moan, gripe and complain each and every day.

Why don't you switch to another service and switch to another and another and another. Because if you think any service is perfect, well you would not be on comcast, would you! you would be on that other guys perfect service. So hurry up and switch. That way you will have some other service to complain too. Good bye get lost. YOU STILL HERE!!!!!

comcast really sucks anyway... why not get DSL while it is much better? u can get guaranteed latency from telecom DSL company that should be for serious gamers... so and... comcrap DNS servers are really sucks too... i ll stay away from this crappy ISP... lol have a nice day dealing with comcrap problems... i dont think you can blame comcrap for problems... maybe u should use alt. DNS servers, not comcast DNS servers...

This all sucks but..

I guess I'm glad I live where I can get Time Warner's Road Runner. 8.5M down and 768K Up speeds along with the fact that it only goes down about three times a year, but for only a couple of hours at the most. And when you call up to report it they already know and have people working to fix the problem. Most of the time it's because some dumbass dug though a fiber connection or a drunkin' fool driver took down a pole somewhere that had import cables attached to it.

One time it was down for about 4 hours, but that was because my cable modem burned up and I took it back to get it exchanged myself. Can't blame them for that.

Anyways, it's great downloading 300MB files in less than 5 min. EAT MY DUST!!!

comcast sucks

I'm hooked up with Comcast and the down time is rediculous. I'd like to see them give me lee-way when I'm late with my bill. I was paying for 8 mb/s and i was receving like 1.5 they sent a tech out who said it was a bandwidth issue and he basically suggested i keep my high tier that worked only when other people weren't on. That's a load of crap. So I downgraded to 6 mb/s, but now my upload speed is like .4 which is garbage for gaming. If SBC ever comes around I'm switching as fast as i can phone. Oh yeah and how does this make sense? Limited Cable plus internet = $63
