I wonder if its someone from the dslreports forum ? I don't think but no one can ever be sure. (I thought keeping a bike was hard enough trying to keep safe now it seems like simple things like internet, phone, etc lines are even harder to keep safe sometimes. I wish there was a way to keep everything safe.) -- Thank God i am not getting married, having kids, going on a date, etc! Oh Thank God! |

They can destroy buildings, they can kill people and we will be sadden by these tragedies but they will never be allowed to kill the spirit of democracy! God Bless! |

| I would be.
The sort of person that does something like this is someone that feels they don't have much too lose on some level. This is personal, not business-related.
People don't risk their livelihood and their freedom to marginally assist (if even at all) the image of their employer, generally speaking, no matter how dedicated of employee they may be. In fact, the more dedicated they are the less likely they'd be to do something like that, knowing that if (more a question of when, actually) it came out that it was (hypothetically speaking) a competing company's employee it'd damage their reputation more then any short-term gain from making Verizon look like it has service issues. |

Good for him! I wish more people would do this! Then they can REALLY spend the money they claim they spend on Maintenance. Probably did it because hes in just the right distance from the C.O. to get DSL, but the SEMI-FUNCTIONAL RETARDS at Verizon cant get the loop clean or stable enough to get him DSL. GOOD for HIM! Hope there are more people like him. |

LMFAO. I don't know why but I found it funny when I first read it.
I feel sorry for those folks that got their services cut off. I mean seriously how many people have done something crazy as this guy has by going around cutting hundreds of peoples phone and DSL?
He must have done some serious damage if there is a $50,000 reward. Maybe I should head to Massachusetts and see if I can earn $50,000 by finding the guy. |

....if you had a map of all the fiber conduits you could do a LOT of damage.
mainly because you could find places where no one lives and make a 1 inch cut in the groud no one would ever see. I've heard those cuts are the hardest to find, especially when the OTDR readers can only get you within a few hundred feet. |

2 edits | reply to AbBaZaBbA Their fiber deployment ( not in that area though I think ) must really have the competition upset. Or maybe it's a disgruntled employee, customer they upset or a wife whose husband hasn't been home as much as she would like. But that last one wouldn't work would it. This would make hubby have to do even more work. So that could be it. An employee looking for some overtime to pay the bills.:D |

Three guesses:
disgruntled employee disgruntled customer competition
I'm leaning towards #1 or #2, because #3 would be easy to find and fix. Just they better not try this with fiber, becuase the second lines are cut- alarm bells will go off and this can be tracked much easier. |

| I can't believe this!
All I have to say is You People Amaze Me!!
It seems to me that most of the people that have posted so far in this thread seem to think that this type of vandalism is a big joke and funny or something. I'm sure that the people who lost their phone service because of this are not laughing.
It doesn't matter is you like or dislike Verizon, this is a serious problem. It affects everything from casual calls to business and 911 calling to data transport for hundreds if not thousands of people! The person responsible needs to be caught and prosecuted. I do believe tampering or damaging telephone facilities is a federal offense (for good reason).
For those of you that think this is funny, HA HA, grow up!! You people make me sick!!
