broadband

well it has taken long enough but people are actually figuring out that dialup for around 15 a month and a landline phone for 30 to 50 a month = about 65 dollars on average, 90% of people have a cell phone and cable TV so why not can the dialup and home phone seeing how cell phones are better anyway so that stops 65 dollars in spending then you can apply that 65 to cable or dsl and depending on what service you get that will be 35 to 60 a month so the savings are obvious. dialup is a complete waste of time. we are not living in the era of the WOPR computer and wargames and tic tac toe to save the world.

Who cares about Gen X?

Of course those numbers will be higher to a bunch of school students.

What are the numbers for the "Nintendo" generation (8bit) that have the money to purchase their own broadband?

X

The way I see it, if you turned 18 in the 20th century, in the '80s or '90s, you're Gen X. If you didn't turn 18 until the new millennium, you're Gen Y (Millennial Generation.) I'd say The Nintendo Generation is the last half of Gen X--the kids who graduated high school in the '90s. I'm part of this group, and certainly can afford broadband.

Re: X

So I'm in Gen Y. Yay

The always connected always on generation . Bring on the Fiber

I dont consider the true broadband era to have started until I get my HDTV music videos and everything else video over my net connection, and that while doing gaming and a download of terabyte files :P

 OT - 7 years?

Since when s a generation only 7 years long? Are there 7 year olds having babies and populating the world now? Should a generation be at LEAST 18 years?

Uses.

I'm more interested in knowing what those crazy "Gen-Y" kids use their broadband connections for, in comparison to previous generations.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but I'd still like to see the results...

Re: Juice Boosted?

Hey h3ymore, go back to your AOL account:p. Opps. Forgot I think I am older than you. These young kids don't know what what slow really is. How many people here ever purchased a 300 baud modem? Dail up to BBS just to download your software patches? And you had to PAY long distance charges to download that patch?

Re: OT - 7 years?

They are at least 18 years, as I see it. Strauss and Howe, generation scholars, authors of "Millennials Rising" and "The Fourth Turning", say the birth years for the Millennial Generation runs from 1982-2001.
