...but no Chicago? Chicago is one of the largest wireless markets in the country. Is VZW afraid that it won't be able to keep up with demand?
...and I highly doubt that people buying this service are doing so to replace their home broadband service. 500k for 80 bucks or 6000kbps for 45...which one would you pick. -- ::: Do, or do not, there is no try:::»www.kapilville.com |

Maybe some cows can use it on the farm. |

My neighbor in the DC area got that service from Verizon since he wasn't able to get DSL. He's pretty happy with it, since he can go almost anywhere in his house with it, as well as anywhere around town. |

Actually DSLReports has the speeds wrong.
I've been getting between 720 and 935 kbps download speeds so far. |

Any one know if you can do ICS with this technology? |

Verizon has turned people's service off for using their 1X RTT data service too much. They will do the same with EV-DO I'm sure. -- WinXP_Home, 1.8GHz P4, 512DDR, DAK421_P15, DW4000 Two-Way, SRS, SatMex5, 1130MHz, Proxy on, DrTCP. |

The only problem is that the only card they currently sell is pcmcia. This means that only laptops can use it. (there are SOME pocket pc's that support pcmcia, but probably less than 5% of the market). This service is currently only meant for use by business customers who travel with their laptop. Verizon "should" be releasing phones that support ev-do in early 2005, but I do not see ev-do SD cards or even CF cards coming out ever, or at least for a loooooong time! |
