| What is really stupid, is that Verizon has rolled out their VoiceWing (VOIP) service, and they won't let you drop the POTS line and add VOIP as a replacement. Speaking to a VoiceWing rep he said, "Well, you can get cable and then sign up with VoiceWing. That way you don't have to have a POTS line". I said, "So what you are saying is that I should drop Verizon DSL (and the accompanying POTS line) for cable so I can get VoiceWing and not double-up phone service." This move absolutely makes no business sense at all - its retarded. |

Yeah, I was afraid that Verizon would pull this type of stunt, They are basically saying If You are a VOL DSL Customer, You can't have VoIP or Cell Phone Service, If You drop Verizon Phone service, VOL will drop Your DSL Service and no 3rd party DSL Service will be allowed to service You at all most likely(As They won't be able to put a Dry Pair from the CO to Your Residence, But I would love to be proved wrong on this).....  Even though for Years You could get the phone company to do just that, But You had to pay for It and No I don't know what Verizon Charges for that, Nor do I know how to hook up DSL to It, Even though It should be quite easy in theory. |

Considering the outrageous property taxes I pay here in PA, that 4 billion would go a long way to property tax reduction....

This is typical of Verizon. They suckered me into purchasing a land line because they assured me DSL was available. Guess what? My DSL order has been cancelled 3 times already because they said I'm too far from the CO and they refuse to tell me when DSL will be available. Customer service rep got a serious attitude when I said that Verizon assured me that it was available. No cable here either |
