| The truth can hurt. GWI is superior to TW Cable Internet.
I can back up this simple statement (not claim) with several points.
1. Faster speed for less money. I am on the redline service (reminder: 8mips tx, 1mip rx) and even at 10k feet from the C.O. with a couple splitters on my phone line, I reliably am connected in the neighborhood of 7.5mbits/sec down and .8xx mbits/sec up.
My ping times (as a gamer) are low and stay the same throughout all hours of the day and night.
Even with a less than utopian schematic, my connection is faster than every residential Time Warner connection in the *state*. My connection speed does not drop when someone next door orders a movie and my pings do not sky rocket when the television station actually *lags*. It is a sign of quality when Time Warner cable *television* starts to consist of 16 pixels due to too many users on digital cable. As TW fails in their primary function as a cable television provider, it is a sign of the quality of their joke "high speed" connection.
2. Quality tech support.
The local tech support of GWI makes me feel confident that my choice of ISPs was correct. I have not regretted calling GWI my ISP since I initially plugged in my modem. Local tech support means that you have someone local who cares about the problem and is concerned about resolving an issue, not relying on the fact that the number is routed from a continent away as an excuse for apathy.
Time Warner states local tech support, but you will never talk to someone from the tri-state area unless you are a business customer. As a residential customer of GWI, I am on a first name basis with the tech support staff, without paying more for less speed.
3. Quality of work.
This is not the cliched "David vs. Goliath" that I am sick of reading. This is a prime example of quality work vs. assuming consumers are clueless.
If Time Warner was a quality company, they would not have to make absurd claims to the functionality of their product. This whole law suit proves the insecurity of a company afraid to have their lies and marketing corruption exposed.
GWI has maintained professional tone throughout the ad-war. This has put them as a respected elder in my book (Happy 10th GWI). A company that has existed over 10 years strictly as an ISP in the crazy dot com world has to be doing something right, as proved in the superior product, intelligent staff, and confidently plain price.

There are no legitimate arguments that one could make with the self evident facts that I have typed to conclude the discussion. From here on out, I only expect to see positive posts about the quality of GWI.
One may claim that I'm egotistical, but if anything, I'm just confident in my decision in my ISP. As for my credentials, I'm just a 19 year old techno-user that enjoys things to work as promised.

There doesn't need to be a next challenge, GWI already destroyed TW in the tests.

What are you talking about? If you have an opinion then at least present it respectfully. GWI does have the bite, the bite however is in the speed of their DSL service, not in slummy ads that spout lies.

This line I take it is quality service? Yeah, I suppose you are right, my ISP does "step up" and provide honest, quality service.

Inmaine, I'll provide you with the numbers from both the RR.com speed test and the GWI speedtest. I will also take screen-shots if you think that it is necessary to verify that I am not fibbing.
These screen-shots would be better if I took them throughout the day, that way you can tell my speed stays amazing throughout the day and night (which is more than RR can say).
Let me know if you want these results, I would oblige as soon as I had the spare time.

Microsoft bought out of their monopoly conviction after being stingy financing their first legal fight. Martha steward was stingy and used her son-inlaws law firm instead of buying the help she needed. TWC already bought reality in the form of tough smart attoneys. They roared and GWI leaped off the internet just the way TWC demanded. If GWI had any balls, they would have demanded TWC retract those ads "Imediately" under threat of lawsuit based on their test findings. Instead they wimped out under the rug. The reality in my area is that TWC is much faster than SBC DSL and GWI cant afford to "BUY" their way here to bring me their "BETTER" service. That is reality "BOUGHT" to me by the big dawgs. | |

This isn't about who "bought" the rights to claim better service.
This is thread was about how GWI came out on top for speed tests and got sued by another company.
From now on, please post comments about "dawgs", "balls", and whatever non-sense you feel about this topic in some form of yahoo chat or state them aloud without typing a single key.

All I can hope is that people make the rational and intelligent decision to switch from their RR connection to GWI.
As for the speedtests, so you don't think I'm slacking, I won't have the time to post results until Monday. I really don't think they are necessary, because at this point we're only debating how much GWI shames Time Warner Road-runner.
...Anything over 1.5 is just icing on the cake.

When you got wiener dogs like GWI making a pest of themselves, TWC gains industry prestigue and fear by kicking wiener dogs to the curb. This acts as a deterent to true contenders who may think they got a bigger bite. Thus TWC grows stonger while facing few real chalanges. Its instictive that if a chalenger sees all the dead bodies as he approaches the arena, they tend to get cold feet. Like I said from the get go, Wimps are making TWC grow fiercer by the day and they may become the new microsoft monopoly we pay dearly for.
