How about this you friggin idiot, go out and get you own connection if your mooching (her words, not mine, I'd piggyback on a neighbors Wi-Fi and split the cost if I could) has come to an end, but damnit, the Coffee shop offers free Wi-Fi if I drink $10 worth of Latte each day while on their premises.
Or even better, troubleshoot your lack of SBC wireless access!! |

But it is an intersting look into the perceptions of normal people and the functionality of the internet.
I have a scary feeling that the opinions expressed in the article are very similar to those who purchase spyware advertised in pop up windows.

Why does she think she's stealing wireless access from her neighbor? Is she so slow as to think that he is the only person close to her with an unsecure WAP?
If his isp is SBC, why does she think Verizon is somehow connected to his WAP?.
If all else fails, this girl should get herself a cantenna,
point it out the window, and use a sniffer to find the next unsecured access point. I was forced to cut my daughters DSL access due to low grades and she still had access via the neighbors unsecured WAP (way slower though). Ended up taking away her wireless NIC out, (amidst much screaming and posturing) and she went back to dialup for the term of her punishment(until the grades came back up). |
