FCC joke in my town...

Someone needs to get this idiot out of his position before he ruins something else in this country.

Will he allow open comments though? Because with the upcoming election he'll be hit by a lot of people angry over eveyrthing.

It would have been easier for you to follow the link and find that yes, there are plenty of comments, than it took you to post here stating that you hadn't bothered to look.

A break from Vegas Junkets?

So while he's not partying it up in Vegas or letting tax payers be swindled for billions »msnbc.msn.com/id/5234858/, or having his picture taken with Mickey Mouse, he's blogging? He's one of the biggest do nothings, ever.

Why would a rich person...

Why would a rich person join a free service with a whole crapload of advertisements, when it wont even hit him deep in his pockets to pay for livejournal.com.

What's the point of allowing open comments if he doesn't answer the questions being asked??

Be glad he's using a free service, or he'd be spending YOUR tax dollars on a subscription to livejournal.

Good point, the answer is we don't know. I really doubt he will read every comment posted. You never know though, he could assign someone to read it and extract meaningful information or questions?

It will be interesting to read his next entry to see if it touches at all on any of the comments from his previous blog entry.

I joined and posted about TWC wants $25,000 instal

I just joined alwayson-network.com
and posted my story (originally posted here at dslreports)
»[TWC] [TWC] wants wants to charge me $25,000 for RR
www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,9512648
about Time Warner Cable wants to charge me $25,000
to install cable TV.
The other cable company Cablevision is right around the corner.
Cablevision folks are so great over the phone. I truly believe at this point that
Cablevision would like to build cable in my area
and absorb the cost(no mention of any money, not $25,000)
but they cannot, because a franchise is required for
each town but who can go thru the expense of a franchise
with only 20-22 customers?
I am between 2 towns and 2 cable companies.

So I posted my broadband blackhole story to FCC Chairman
Powell's site. I really hope he reads it,
especially since my case is clearly
one where government regulation has gone very wrong.

Re: ?

A blogger is someone who creates an online diary (web-log or "blog") of their daily deep thoughts, with the delusion that their thoughts have relevance.

Yeah, i think that is a little ridiculous...maybe charge yuo exactly what it costs to lay the line, and everything it entails, but 25000 is a little bit much

It's too late the damage is already done. Still you're right he needs to be removed from that position. I still haven't fully come to the conclusion if he truly believes the myth of deregulation being a long term benefit to consumers and the economy. Or if he is merely a Government puppet of the corporate machine whether knowingly or not.

Whichever one is true he still needs to be removed. Limiting regulation is fine if done conservatively. This can help in preventing Over-regulation which can be nearly as bad as deregulation. Deregulation almost never works.

The deregulation of cable companies offering cable tv service is more than proof of this. The cable pig is fatter then ever and the only thing that is keeping him from going hole hog is competition via Satellites and the growing interest among communities in building fiber and wireless networks.
