Damn...

Hello Verizon? Can we offer this too?! Oh wait...that's probably only going to be offered to those within the first 3,000ft of a CO...lol.

Anyway, it would be nice to see...seems Zoomtown is listening to the customers...now why can't you do this?

Cincinnati Bell part of SBC ?? Hmmm....

"Zoomtown is Cincinnati Bell, by the way. Part of the SBC group."

Since when ?? Where is this information from ?? They are a private company, not part of some bigger one:

About Cincinnati Bell Inc.
Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE: CBB) is parent to one of the nation’s most respected and best performing local exchange and wireless providers with a legacy of unparalleled customer service excellence. The company was recently ranked number one in customer satisfaction, for the third year in a row, by J.D. Power and Associates for residential long distance among mainstream users. Cincinnati Bell provides a wide range of telecommunications products and services to residential and business customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Cincinnati Bell is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. For more information, visit www.cincinnatibell.com.

Nice deal.

$50 for 3.0/768 with a static IP? What a deal! The only providers I know that give those speeds and a static IP run about $100/month for a package like that.

It has NOTHING to do with SBC...

They are a regional ILEC in the Cincinnati OH/Northern Kentucky area. This only applies to people who's phone company is already Cincinnati Bell. Kinda like a new offering from BellSouth doesn't mean squat to me. It won't mean much to many people around here. One thing I've noticed about Cincinnati Bell/Zoomtown, they seem to have their sh*t straight. You hardly ever see complaints about their service. They're # 3 on DSLR's "Good, Bad, Ugly" listing for National ISPs/Telco ADSL...

Brokewing

This was all part of that great company Broadwing known in the industry as Brokewing I believe.

CINCINNATI -- April 29, 2003 -- Broadwing Inc. (NYSE:BRW) today announced at its Annual Shareholders meeting that the company will return its corporate name to Cincinnati Bell Inc. and adopt the NYSE ticker symbol CBB.

Brokewing has a great backbone and they were at one time a great little company hopefully they will return to being their former self as CBB again.

Just waiting!!!

As has been said, Zoomtown is the Internet provider owned by Cincinnati Bell. I'm waiting for my upgrade to arrive. It is the best deal going today as far as I know. Especially since there are many ares of Cincinnati whose only alternative is Adelphia and their Powerlink crap. I have not had cable internet available to me in over 3 years because Adelphia sucks, and Time Warner is nowhere in sight.

Another perk is that I get a corporate discount through my company. So my access is actually $34.95 a month.

Re: Cincinnati Bell part of SBC ?? Hmmm....

And I have to agree with JD Powers to most of these points. The service offering is excellent on all platforms. Where else can you get Residential service, cell, and DSL all for under $95 a month? And that is 30 minutes of LD a month on the residential and something like 5 cents a minute after. And 500 minutes a month on the cell with unlimited nights, weekends, and LD. Now stack on 3Mb down and 768k up on the DSL. Can't beat 'em.

It would figure...

...that less than a month after I get a new apartment that they would upgrade the network, and don't forget that Zoomtown isn't available in my area. Oh well, It's great that they have stepped up to the plate after letting Roadrunner walk all over them for 3+ years in Cincinnati. Maybe we'll see some much needed advancement in broadband technology in Southwest Ohio.

Yeah, I believe that most of the North and Northwestern areas outside the city are serviced by Sprint. Although, I have a coworker who has Sprint SDSL at 1.5 with a static IP for $50 a month. That's still pretty good too.

Can't get it here

I'm in an area served by Cincinnati Bell but I am 4 miles from the nearest CO. There are some people within Cincinnati Bells service area who can't get Zoomtown. I do have InsightBB,who lately has dropped the ball and is letting its competitors get ahead of them. I just wish Cincinnati Bell was competing against them where I live.
