| How can they do this? I think the the ISPs should band together and come up with their own root DNS and eliminate Verisign. I can't believe something this essential to the Internet is controlled by a single company and they can redirect traffic in whatever manner they choose.
If they really want to be helpful, they should offer a browser plug-in. Based on the merit of its design and function, people choose to use it because it helps avoid site-not-found errors.
IMO, this kind of crap makes Microsoft look like a saint. At least we can buy a Mac or load Linux on our Intel systems. I'm not aware of an alternative Internet DNS service! | |

1 edit | Revoke Verisign Root authority I think IANA and DoC should revoke VeriSign's authority to run root servers and master Domain database based on misuse of the stewardship. At least not renew the contract and from this moment on put a clause restricting this type of behavior from future contracts. | |

this is bad no matter how you look at it. it will send us backwards in the fight against spam for the entire internet community, but veri$ign only see's the dollars... time for this monopoly to split. if anyone knows of a website that has a petition online that eveyone can sign up and send their thoughts to verisign through please post it here.. | |
