Numbers and stats are nice, broadband is addictive, and you'll never think about going back to dial-up. But where's the CONTENT that will get people to say "crap, I gotta get broadband, dude!"
Yeah, I love my DSL, but I've yet to do something with it(besides saving time, and Spinner) that I couldn't do with dial-up.

Cable is the way to go  Nice though that more people are on broadband and congrats to those companies for raking the dough. But im a firm cable advocate Where are the numbers for Cable users I'm sure its gotta be just as high if not higher :P

Cable is great if your provider is a good one. In my area of NYC I couldn't get cable internet access. My brother could. His speeds were lightspeed fast (better than 3Mbs) until the rest of his neighborhood got onboard. So, his node is full, and now his download speed is no better then mine (1.5Mbs), and his upload speed is capped at 80kbs (I have 128kbs). I also pay $40 USD less then he does. Guess what, he's in the process of switching. He got tired of paying so much for so [much] less.
So in some large areas with cable "market" saturation - if DSL is available it's usually cheaper. So why not try it!

I wasnt trying to start some neer neer thing, just want to see the numbers to cable that is all. How about Fiber also, DSL is not the only sort of broadband out there just makes my cable feel all left out

IT IS WRONG!!! I STILL don't have DSL in my neighborhood. Probably never will.
The one tech at Qwest that I talked to said the technology is not availble to wire neighborhoods that are more than 18000 ft from the CO. We all know that it a load of BULL! They could easily drop a RT in my neighborhood and take care of it.

I feel your pain.
No, really, I do.
I had Verizon DSL then I move to an apartment that wasn't serviceable by VOL, fiber in the loop, so I got Adelphia Powerlink instead.
Now, I'm in my own home, too far away from the cable main trunk to even get cable and too far for DSL. I hate dial up and the way I've been connecting on dial up I think I got a poor line or something cause I can't even get 56K with a brand new V.92 modem (had to buy one)
I think I'm going to have to get Satellite until Verizon does something like improve the technology or drops an RT next to my house.
