| Who really won the "war on terror"?
The terrorist attacks of 2001-09-11 were a crude, brute force attack on our freedom. If we as a nation are so much in fear of future terrorist attacks and lose our freedoms, including freedom of speech, as a result, who really won the "war on terror"?
Such things as quashing legitimate freedom of speech, which I believe this paper to be, is handing the victory trophy to the terrorists. They don't have to hijack any more planes and fly them into buildings, or other reprehensible things, because our government is quashing our freedoms out of fear of them and thus their job is already done!
This story makes me sick. Just how proud can I be of being an American when freedom of speech is being attacked out of fear of terrorism? | |
