Well Vonage, and Packet8 is a good way of motivating them. Cut the line, go cable. -- Call your friends let them know about www.donotcall.gov. Send email, use flyers, rent a banner ad. Let friends use your computer.. |

| Funny how competition and market share do things like...lower prices, improve service, add features and otherwise benefit consumers. So I guess it's little wonder why each telco or cable operator wishes to be the only broadband game in town, huh?

But I thought the cable companies are saying cable and DSL are not competitors. The Bell South and consumers must be mistaken here. We need the PUC to step in and raise the price back up to foster competition or the local cable company may lose customers -- If it is not recorded, it simply does not exist. |

High time (yeehaw..lol) for BellSouth to start offering DSL to customers instead of just a hand full of people. BellSouth can't beat Cables 2.0mb downloads unless the Telco is on Fiber. Why don't they just give us DSL instead of a lot of talk. If your going to say something how about, Hey we just upgraded our old crappy out of date network so you can receive DSL service in your area. Oh wait now thats news. What kind of people run BellSouth... um never mind? Hey wana bannana? haha

Price is only one point. how about decent speeds, bridged connections or port speeds with added speed to compensate for pppoe/a overhead (like verizon) and decent american tech support that live in america and can actually help with problems. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth |

Yes, and at Direct TV-DSL old prices with Static IP is one of the BIG reasons why they went under and you are now with a new provider. It's simple to see that *any* business would fail when it sells it product below it's costs.
Just like the defunct Sprint ION service. Great value for the customer, but not enough profit to stay in business.

Yeah, well from what I have seen of the service Powerlink can't compete with Bellsouths Email service (/5 accounts w/ 25 meg per account), decent number of newsgroups @ full DSL speed, and connection reliability, very little downtime. (for me anyway) I have seen Powerlinks service.. I have to pass! |

DSL Lite for $35 is nothing new. Before I upgraded to 2-way sat, I had Ameritech's DialUp Lite package for ~$47/mo. It was a blazing 2KB up/down. -- The whole truth and nothing but the truth at »www.teletruth.org |
