kudos:2 | Softbank's network/coverage sucks Sprint's coverage can be poor just like Softbank's. I'm curious about the strategic advantage of a third-rate carriers purchasing another third-rate carrier. I doubt that it will change the lineup of handsets. |

| Hmm...Intresting... When you look at the other Sprint news today, this begins to make sense. If Sprint is serious about making a counter-offer on MetroPCS, then the cash they get from this deal will help them in the other.

| Sayonara? Been with Sprint a long time. It's already unlikely that, if ever we decide to go with smartphones, we'd go with Sprint, anyway, but this'd put the final nail in the coffin for me.
Why doesn't Sprint really do it up right and sell itself to China Mobile?

I have not read anything in detail but it's awesome, I simply saw deal while going thoroughly through it and I hate it, it's the worst thing in the world.v I' m sorry to say this but to be honest it's true in India. |

When I have a choice between a U.S. firm and a non-U.S. firm, and the U.S. firm is roughly competitive, I'll choose the U.S. firm every time.
The only exception to that rule is the thing that calls itself "AT&T."

Evidently he is RIGHT this time. The company stopped short of saying that it will accept a full buyout, saying instead that the firms are discussing a "substantial investment." Here is Sprint's comment on the matter:

Although there can be no assurances that these discussions will result in any transaction or on what terms any transaction may occur, such a transaction could involve a change of control of Sprint. Incorrect. Vodafone owns 45% of VZW while Verizon owns the other 55% and thereby controls VZW. |

Right about what exactly? This was widely reported before Blankenhorn weighed in on the matter. No, I was referring to his opinion on what a potential Sprint/Softbank tie-up could mean. The guy is very bearish on S, though his reasons don't usually add up. Pretty much every time he's made a gloom and doom prediction regarding S, the stock has surged. Even he will (grudgingly) admit to this. |
