I wonder how they will respond here? Especially since the CEO hinted that DOCSIS 3.0 would be delayed in Greensboro specifically because of the backlash from their failed attempts at metered billing.
I have 20Mbps symmetrical fiber (30Mbps symmetrical is available to me) from my local ILEC, but I'd love another price drop or speed bump due to competition from Time Warner. |

| I have a better idea..... How about finishing wiring up the cities that already have U-Verse available in 'parts' of them... Like one neighborhood can get U-verse service and the very next neighborhood only can get regular 6 Meg [5 Meg after overhead] DSL.
A big part of the reason people don't subscribe is because it is not available to sign up for. [Due to using old copper instead of FTTP which does not have nearly the distance limitations of copper. Good for about 6 miles-.] |

Re: I have a better idea..... Yeah, speaking as one in the Triangle, where it's available to homes on a through street outside my neighborhood, but not at all to any homes IN my neighborhood... And TWC hasn't done jack around here, yet. Still the best option with them is 7M/384k. |

Please send your mailing address to uversecare@att.com I'd like to get your issue resolved immediately. Sometimes the qualification system can be inaccurate, and I can look and send it up and see if you actually qualify for U-verse (especially if your neighbors have it.)
Thanks, Matt

 | TWC I am in Greensboro. Well now, so TWC won't offer Docsis 3.0 here because of "backlash" against metered billing, eh? Well that is just one more reason I will never do business with them. First of all, everywhere I go in greensboro their digital tv service pixelates and loses "signal" frequently and not just on one channel. That is crap. Add to that that they are using old tech for their cable internet here and they are mad because we won't "just buy right in" to their metered billing plans? Well, if they are that selfish then they need to go out of business. Good riddens. Of course, this is also what happens when you don't have real competition in a market and when corporations leverage government to get what they want. There is a reason that AT&T and TWC's efforts to prevent municipal broadband in NC have fallen flat on their face every single time. Offer new service at a reasonable price and have it work right and I'll think about it. Otherwise, they can keep their miserable, selfish service for themselves. |

 | AT&T NOT AVAILABLE IN MAIN AREAS OF GREENSBORO, NC They have been advertising that at&t uverse is now in Greensboro, NC but it is misleading!! I live only 3 miles west of downtown Greensboro and I cannot get uverse here.
I called at&t and they cannot give me an answer where their service is available in Greensboro or when it will be available. So, I'm taking it that it won't be here at least another 2-3 years.
Before the press gets ahead of themselves, they need to get the information correct. |
