Re: now, about this grandfathering.... Probably means people who have the 22/5 will keep it, not get a free upgrade. |

| baby steps... Well, 100/25 isn't the best they can do, but it will probably encourage the 'other' cablecos (Cablevision, Time Warner can do better than 101/15 once this gets released) with 100mbit tiers to increase the upstream speeds. I am annoyed that Verizon fios is now hocking 15/5 instead of 25/15 or 25/25 and the SAME price.. hence a PRICE INCREASE in effect throwing an oil slick down on what competition there may have been in the most competitive overlapping footprints. |

Re: baby steps... Nobody wants to do price competition. Would much rather just ckmpeteon speed and features and drive the price upward as they go. It's good for shareholders. |

| Excuse me The 250GB in 5 hours is a load of crap. I hardly do 25GB a month that is with Hulu and Itunes. The only ones are left, are downloading psychopaths who deserve to have their cable cut and a trip to the library book section. As is read a book and get a life. My actual use is less than 18GB a month |

I'm getting the feeling people are complaining for the sake of complaining. Sure, you supply the extra money for that business account. Who's complaining for the sake of complaining again? |

 | cap Well, I set my computer to download the entire interwebz and hit 750gb last month.
I wonder if they are really terminating service in areas that have both Comcast and FiOS. |

Re: Comcap Yes because if you don't use X amount of bandwidth neither should I....
There is no reason other than stifling internet video that Comcast has a 250 GB cap. 100Mbit/s and a 250 GB cap (which is about 5 hours of saturated use) is embarrassing. |

I wish providers were forced to list saturated use time in all advertisements - 5 hours would probably shame them into changing that policy very quickly. |

That's nice.....I got about 748GB last month....averagely I hit more than 700 GB every month snce I had 50/10 last Aug., never got any call b4 and never will. Cos I switch to FiOS 35/35 last week and love the upstream. |

Even if they happen to be in the same town. It's not like a household that is served by Cablevision, can switch to Comcast or (shudder) Time Warner Cable if they're unhappy with the service.
There's no incentive to improve if there's no competition to worry about. |

Re: Comcap It is sad to see the Comcast babies defend their shitty ISP's shitty policies. Just because you're stuck with a terrible ISP and don't have any other options doesn't mean you have to go around fellating them on broadband forums out of jealousy of others who are fortunate enough to have decent ISPs with no bandwidth caps. |

I'm making an assumption, that you are not a comcast customer. If that is the case, why do you give a flying F^&$ ????? Oh, sorry I guess i just fellated comcast
You're right, I should give comcast the boot and sign up for 1.5 meg dry loop dsl from qwest for the same price...
And while I'm bent over (For comcast) I may as well ask, which residential ISP allows unlimited data with no caps? I mean, truly unlimited?
How bout you prove your claims and saturate your time warner connection for a month solid (while giving them a2m) |
|
 | 250GB cap = fail 100/25 should have at least 750GB cap. |
