Considering that I have 12 Mbps/2 Mbps for $33 per month from Comcast with a 2 year contract, that's not a very good deal from Verizon. Especially since I didn't even have to be a new customer to get it.
Verizon has been very heavily advertising DSL in my area. Here's a tip Verizon, why don't you deploy FIOS in my area. Then maybe we'll talk.

I live in the heart of DC and guess what? No 7.1Mbps down for $37.99 available. The best they do on my block is 5Mbps down for $42.99 month.

Karl Bode, you need to be more sensitive and politically correct to the residents of the nation's capital. We already suffer taxation without representation and slow internet speeds (see my other post). |

Yes I hope Verizon does better in our nation's capital city but don't get us started on what's wrong with a single city becoming a state, if you want to be part of a state see if you can get Maryland to take D.C. back. |

The throttling and the 250GB cap have nothing to do with each other, one is to control peak usage in the afternoon, the other is to control P2Pers/bulk transfer/streaming blu-ray. |

Why is it wrong for 1 million people to have representation so that we can vote on issues of cell phones and broadband?
Maybe Penn should be absorbed and controlled by say New York or Virginia? How does that make you feel?
My point was that residents of the future state of Columbia have just as many concerns about broadband but have no voice and are treated as second class citizens.
Plus it is just rude to say "states" and, oh by the way you other "non-important non-state" D.C. |
