| A monopoly of what, however. As far as I can tell, I still choose to use Google's free services. I have other choices, I'm not required by law to use them, nor do I see them trying to prey upon me.
While I have no doubt Google's market share is massive, I still don't see them acting anti-consumer.

I think both provide good points but not strong argument in my opinion.
The problem is a miss uses of the definition of fundamental rights when applying it to the internet. Fundamental Rights have a few important characteristics, in theory they should never be taken away from the person. Secondly fundamental rights are immaterial by nature. Finally Fundamental Rights cannot contradict the fundamental rights of others; especially there are no fundamental rights to initiate an act of face against property and the body of others.
Take for example free speech, I should have a right to free speech but I do not have a right to force my neighbor to buy me a pa system or furnish a computer and internet connection. |

Yes, I know mosquitoes are part of the food chain, that they provide food for other insects, birds, bats, etc ... but honestly, if I had the choice, and I could push a big shiny button that wiped Mosquitoes from the face of the Earth..... I'd push that sucker in a heartbeat!
Course maybe I'd store some eggs/DNA etc first... just in case... but man, I'd sure love to see them all gone. Forever!

When one company controls the world wide "starting point" of the Internet, the majority of all Internet advertising and all the cookies that monitor what you do, I would say they should be kept an eye on. |

We have had a week of straight rain here in the NYC area. My lawn is so green and in desperate need of mowing.
This weekend is supposed to be spotty weather at best so I am going to try and do it in between rain drops.
Nothing like real rainwater to make the lawn grow. Sprinkler system can't hold a candle to it - wrong nutrient mix I guess. |
