Ya there is no excuse for this. They are making money hand over fist from their cellphone business and already have some of the worst customer support of any telco in Canada-and thats saying something.
This is a good time for companies to downsize/rightsize/reorganize -- everyone's doing it so they figure "join the crowd." With daily announcements of job cuts across all industries, no one gets too uptight about another few thousand. The impact on stock price is minimal.
they are doing a bad job in retaining quality employees. TELUS HR is very passive and have no control of organizational structure. They only take commands and pass them back to business groups to action.
100 layoffs are only because they saw other organizations laying off and thought this is a good time to lay off some of our own. totally uncalled for specially in a time of economically need.
