Reply notification on message shouldnt change global setting

Currently, it seems if you choose a 'reply notification' when posting a message that it changes your global preference at http://www.dslreports.com/prefs/forum to whatever you chose for that individual message. I rarely want new reply notifications except when I post in a forum I don't regularly visit. What ends up happening is the option for reply notification is set to whatever I had done for the last message, and I forget to uncheck it and I end up getting reply notifications for every subsequent message I post until I remember to turn it off.

Can we make the option for new reply notifications default to whatever you have set in your global preferences instead of changing it globally because you requested reply notification on one message?

Meaning, if a request for a forum is made and if enough signatures are "signed"( depending on Admin). Then if approved have that forum in a temp area. If enough people participate it stays, if not it's gone.

Spell Checker in IM

To whom ever put the spell checker feature in the IM thank you. Of course it might be a Firefox upgrade, but knowing How Justin Likes Firefox, thanks again.

To get it all you have to do is right click in your browser and the Spell checker feature is there.

[new forum] iPhone/iPod touch Cocoa programming forum

Anyone interested in this? I do it, and I can help with all aspects of it. You need a Mac, you need to learn Objective-C and the Cocoa Touch APIs, and you get to keep 70% of what your apps make at the Apple store.

In addition, your iPhone app can easily be modified a bit and will then run on the Mac desktop or MacBook/MacBook Pro. This is a good way to tap into a large market (Mac and Windows) on the iPhone and then use that as a productive effort that lets you release it on the Mac as well.

That way, if you are porting from a Windows desktop app, your iPhone port would immediately be attractive to not only your existing Windows customers but hit the Mac market as well, and then the Mac desktop version is basically trivial. I did mine in 3 days.

I think there just might be a lot of C programmers out there who would want to get into this endeavor.

Request for End of Thread Link Addition ("e")

I find the "e" (end of thread) link after the list of pages in a multi-page thread (the one on any given forum's front page) to be very useful when navigating threads that I'm already following. Thank you for that.

[att=1]

I also find the "previous thread" and "next thread" quick links at the bottom right when reading a thread to be extremely useful.

[att=2]

The addition that I would really like to see is an "e" link added to the previous/next quick links. I think it would be very useful for thread navigation.

EDIT: Edited for a little more clarity.

[new forum] IP Radio, Anyone?

Considering there's a bew IP TV forum for the dearth of that out there, an IP Radio forum should already be here.

There's more-and more "radio" out there every day.. MOst uf us already know about Shoutcast, but terrestrial "Big Boys" like Clear Channel and CBS/Infinity are now providing "one-stop-shops", of all their affiliates.

We can discuss those, then bitch about their "canned" players.

Of course, our "official forum whipping boy" would be RIAA/Sound Exchange, as we discuss all of those "indies", that they continually persecute.

Heck, I even have a "ton" of personal notes, concerning streaming sites and their system requirements that could make a good forum FAQ.

"Vote early, and vote often!"
